Adding warm tea to your dogs or cats food be it dry or fresh is one very simple way of adding longevity benefits to your pets bowl!
This powerful yet super beneficial brew should be allow to marinate with your pets food before they tuck in which will create a wonderful gravy and add extra hydration.
Believe it, or not, but dogs are NOT designed to eat low-moisture, dried food their entire lives. In the wild a wolf will be eating live prey and scavenging and many of the fresh meats, fruits and vegetables they find will contain alot of moisture content to serve their palettes.
Green Tea is rich in polyphenols and also contains a special Catechin called Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) which are found to prevent cell damage, lowers the risk of heart disease, reduce inflammation and can also help fight cancer. There are many studies on Green Tea and its benefits for both pets and their owners alike!
It can also act as a weight loss agent and helps in liver inflammation.
Recommended amounts for your pets to be mixed into their morning and evening meals:
Cats - 1 tablespoon
Small dogs - 1/8th cup
Medium dogs - 1/4 to 1/2 cup
Large dogs - 1/2 to 1 cup
While you are brewing up a cup for your dog/cat you might as well do one for yourself as studies have shown that people that drink green tea up to and over 3 times a week incur all the same benefits listed above!
Think I will start as well!
